HabiTea raises approximately $28,000 for the Women Build

This was the first year for the 2016 Women Build HabiTea and because of your participation it was a huge success! We raised approximately $28,000 toward building a home for Kayla White and her two sons ages twelve and fifteen. Kayla has overcome many obstacles in her life but she does not give up. She says she never dreamed she would become a homeowner. Because of your support and others like you, Kayla’s life has been changed dramatically. Kayla now has the strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter she needs to become successful. If you are interested in being part of the hands-on build of Kayla’s home please contact Gail Knight Williams at the Habitat office at 812-423-5623 or email her at gkwilliams@evansvillehabitat.org.

Again, thank you for your participation in the 2016 Women Build HabiTea! If you enjoyed this year’s event please watch for the “Save the Date” for August of 2017.

National Women Build Week was a success!

On Wednesday, May 4, female volunteers hung siding on the home of Doris Douglas for our National Women Build Week Celebration Day! Even though the day was cut short, the all-women crew, alongside our Core Crew, did a great job!

Click here to see photos of the day!

Throughout May we also hosted training workshops at Lowe's for Women! Click here to view photos.

We'd like to thank Lowe's, the corporate sponsor and underwriter of National Women Build Week.

For more information on all Women Build events, email Gail Knight Williams, director of development or call 812-423-5623 ext. 31.

Help RAI$E the ROOF!

Donate Now to help us reach our fundraising goal of $80,000! Everyone can help build a home for a family in need of decent, affordable housing. Donate today to help the 2016 Women Build sponsor a home for a future homeowner to build and purchase.

Here are just a few examples of how your gift will be used:

-$100 funds five interior doors

- $300 is the cost of the landscaping and shrubbery

-$750 would pay for the yard barn.

-$3000 buys the total cost of the windows

-$4000 covers all the concrete for the foundation and walkway

Please know that you will be supporting a cause that helps families build financial equity and provides stability for a lifetime. My favorite saying is: ”We are not given MORE to have more---WE are given MORE to help others." - Vicki Brasel, chair of 2016 Women Build
