Women Build Events

Habitat for Humanity’s National Women Build Week is an annual weeklong event created by Habitat’s Women Build program in partnership with Lowe’s. The program invites women to devote at least one day to help families build strength, stability and independence through housing. The week is meant to spotlight the homeownership challenges faced by women. The 2018 NWBW was May 5-13. In Evansville, there was a Build Day on Wednesday, May 9 where over 50 women came out to install siding on Quiana's Habitat home. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this such a successful build day!

National Women Build Week is held the week leading up to Mother’s Day with Lowe’s generously donating nearly $2 million dollars and volunteer support. Hosting the event during this week reinforces the message that every woman can make a difference through learning and using construction skills. More than 98,000 women from all 50 states have volunteered at the nine previous National Women Build Week events.
