Habitat’s COVID-19 Response: Volunteering During Phase 3

Habitat for Humanity of Evansville is following the Governor of Indiana and Habitat for Humanity International’s re-opening guidelines. We are working to ensure the safety of our volunteers, future homeowners, donors, staff and all those with whom we come into contact.  While we are still working toward resuming normal operations, Habitat is using a phased-in approach just like Indiana.  The phases are subject to modification as conditions warrant.  Currently, we are in Phase 3.  Click here for details about Habitat for Humanity of Evansville’s Phase 3.

Volunteering During Phase 3:  “Construction site volunteering and construction site sweat equity opportunities will begin slowly, with groups of 10 or less allowed on the build site in the coming weeks.  Only volunteers [Core Crew] and future homeowners who have registered in advance will be allowed on the build site.  This will ensure we have appropriate safety measures in place each day.”

As we progress through the COVID-19 pandemic, we will work together to continue to fulfill Habitat’s mission – to build homes, communities and hope.  There is still a great need for decent, affordable housing in our community and this pandemic has opened our eyes to the situations of many families who have been asked to shelter-in-place in housing that is unsafe and unfit for human habitation. Your continued support makes Habitat’s work possible, and we are grateful for each of you.
