Construction and Core Crew

Building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.

Construction

Everything Habitat does is volunteer driven, so we need your help to keep building! Regardless of your skill level or experience, you can get involved in a Habitat Build. You can volunteer as an individual or group, and we even have volunteer opportunities for your business or organization!

Volunteer activities include:

Our regular build days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. We build from 7:30 to 2:30 with a lunch break at 11 on each of those days.

Get Started

If you’re a first-time volunteer, you will fist need to create an account. After that, all you need to do is find an available volunteer opportunity and sign up. It’s that simple!

Liability Waiver: As part of your account creation, you will also be asked to sign a liability waiver. All volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.

Core Crew

We would love to have you join our Core Crew! Core Crew members volunteer at least 80 hours per year. The men and women who make up Habitat’s Core Crew usually come out on some type of regular basis – some once a month, some once a week, and some even come out 2-3 times per week. It’s really up to you and what fits your schedule. Core crew teams work on framing, finish carpentry, siding, and lawn maintenance. Again, no construction experience is needed. Willing hands and hearts are the only requirement – we’ll teach you the rest.

For information about volunteer opportunities or joining the Core Crew, contact Brock Stone at 812-423-5623 ext. 233 or email bstone@evansvillehabitat.org to check availability and register.
